D&AD New Blood...

So.. New Blood. had some interest in me from a few industry types, gave out a few cards, put about a million in the toilets/on coffee tables/bars/floors/cushions (e-mail address is on my blog and mobile number is at the very bottom of my card), had some book crits from Leo Burnetts Chris and Caroline/The Artworks Stephanie Alexander (thank you guys!) and drank alotta free beer (thank you Lydia).
Went to the training and advice sessions yesterday in Notting Hill too, holding it in a cinema was really cool, looked great and really good also as you could pay for one session and then just bumble into the next one and basically stay there all day for every session! classic cinema trick. not that i did that of course... ahem. but on that professional note, thanks to the speakers on that day, they were really useful, particularly Steve Henrys talk on 'how to be successful' (though he did clean up straight away that he didn't like that title). he had some great stories, tips and alot of well placed random quotes which came together as a great talk. Also the one called 'How to make your mark' very useful.
Got a couple of interviews coming up and a work placement or two so now ive got to go through this massive book-full of notes and groom my portfolio to a splendid state, wish me luck!

Hope you lot got from the exhibition what you wanted,

Big up the D&AD

NOT being at Glastonbury...

As a south-westerner I've got a 'gurt' attraction to Glastonbury and thought how going there would be a great blow out to celebrate finishing uni. I got an offer on Friday to get blagged into the festival but turned it down as I came to the conclusion I couldnt really do it as ive got no money and not enough brain cells to be waxed pre-D&AD New Blood. Very sensible of me eh!? But to summarise not being at Glastonbury is pretty shitty. So, I have subsequently been moaning the whole weekend to my girlfriend about not being at Glasto (sorry babe, hah). Ive managed to keep it relatively far back in my mind to ease the pain but following various calls from some of my boys who are there I gave in and switched on BBC 2, I was greeted by a set from the mighty Prodigy who I knew my mates were watching (in the pic). So now im here wondering if I've missed out on the greatest thing on the face of the earth? probably not but im still buying tickets for next year the SECOND they are available.

...ok now the black eyed peas are on... I take it all back.

D&AD New Blood

So, Im going to be rrrrrrrrrepresenting my uni at the D&AD New Blood show as of tomorrow at the London Olyimpia. Heres (half of) my card, keep ya peepers out for 'em! Ive got 500 of the little blighters so one of them must have your name on...

TV ad for 'The Level' Radio 1 (mine)

A big thanks to all those involved, infact... Id like to say thankyou Ju for helping me edit this, my year 11 homies up in the north-east and 'cool dad' Luke for starring in the ad, my dawgs Yags and Naim for directing and taking photos, Danny for letting us use his X-to-tha-Z'ed up car, Thames Valley Universitys media resorses department for making it so bloody difficult for me to hire a semi-decent camera, my girlfriend, my mum, god and... err... my mac for not crashing on me... yet.

just like winning an oscar.
