The Stinking Tube...

I have always kinda dreaded the summertime tube journeys. Hot, sweaty and clammy with a warm aroma of arid armpits, it's a classic conversation.. "just made it on the tube and ended up ear-deep in some fat guys sweatglands". Though there is one day that beats this...

It's days like today that carry the most impressive nasal pugency. The day when it's raining hard, everybody knows it will be and the old rain jackets come out. Thick ones, thin ones, padded ones, quilted ones the lot. they have all been festering in the deepest parts of your house for a good few months now, maturing ready for the great unveiling, all they need is a little sprinkle of water to be brought back to their stinking state once more. The summer sweatys are at least, in majority, clean. Jumping on the tube to meet the stench a carrage full of wet mouldering jackets and getting each of their personal residues wiped upon you as you wait at the door is definetly worse...

The Last Question...

Yeeeah I know what you're thinking it's all black and white and boring and really the only interesting thing about this post is the wonderfully crafted facial hair the speccy mad scientist has in the picture but please read on...
I read this short sci-fi masterpiece after on recommendation from a friend of mine (matty) who found it on Digg a while back (probably a good few years ago now) Its by a writer named Isaac Asimov who is widly regarded as the greatest Sci-fi writer of all time and reading this its not hard to see why!
Its a very short story and is great for a shortish trek to work on the train of something (will probably take little over half an hour to complete).
Make the effort... its got a great ending... BUT, you MUST obey this one single rule if you decide to read it... DO NOT SKIP TO THE END OR EVEN TRY TO READ THE NEXT FEW LINES FURTHER AT THE END... YOU MUST READ IT PROPERLY OR YOU WILL WASTE IT!!

enjoy, and errr without sounding too Matrixy... free your mind...

Isaac Asimov - The Last Question

It has been transferred to an great graphic novel which you can see HERE but I found the text too small to actually see so I'd suggest the 1st link...

What a music video...

This music video is the absolute shit, LOVING the Super Nintendo animations for the power-ups and the character designs are awesome. Pretty gnarly and not for the hating of the x-ratus but a really creative animation... and the actual track is receiving some serious love too, well done Flair... and thy animator...

the Big Fat University...

"When I was introduced to the BFU I really thought I could give up my degree...

If anyone is frustrated using their digital applications and needs some home tutoring, there is no better place to go than the Big Fat University."

This is the most creativly enjoyable thing I've seen all week (outside of my own wonderous work of course).

Enjoy!

Strange Anti-domestic violence ad from (I think) Denmark...

I like to use other parts of my body (head/broken bottle/golf club) to really get a feel for the reality of domestic violence.
Is this ad really effective? I think not...

Chinese Spinning Top...

From my dear friend Yaggi, back from China.
Play with audio, the best bit is the fact that this wonderous oddity plays a local pop song loop which we have decided to be the catchiest tune ever created.
Listen... I dares you precious.

Package design with an extra attention to detail..

This is actually something I have been talking to one of my mates about for a while (Nibs was that you?), just think its great. Milking interest into every aspect of the package. Can see 'Innocent Smoothies' being all over that, mark my words...

See the article... HERE.

My Bloody Tuesday...

Decided to give blood today after seeing the van yesterday, got a free bottle of water and a small packet of Ritz. Who said money makes the world go round. Blood gets you all you need, lets not be greedy.

Notice (middle picture) the little piece of gauze Claudia put neatly over my needle when I said I wanted to take a picture, "its procedure, we aren't allowed to let people see the actual needle going in, it puts them off"... apparently a big bag of warm blood does not...

Head down the local for a quick pint, its for the best.

On a seperate note I cant help but notice that my humble blog is about to reach triple figures! very nice, thanks to all of you who return to see whats up every day. As a thanks, once the big 1000 has been reached I will give £1 to every homeless guy I pass for one day.

This blog is a way for me to let people take a little peek into my brain, just a little tippytoe over the wall glimpse but feel free to grab as much as you can and enjoy.

FLY-ering, sorry, cant believe I did that...

Man, i'm on a roll today, I missed a couple of days but am back on form I think you will agree...

I’m literaly fuming they beat me to this. Used to do this to bees and flies as a kid, once even got half an ice lolly stick off the ground with a row of flying pests (advertising).
Hats off to them for applying this classic to provide a pretty cheap medium which is impossible to ignore (ITIABTWC).

Surely that's it for today?...

If you ever needed a reason to start defacing things...

Graffiti Analysis 2.0 (Digital Blackbook) - BLK River (Vienna) from Evan Roth on Vimeo.

London based artist Ben Turnbull, the anti-yanki...

Heres some of his AWESOME school desk carvings...

"Ben Turnbull is fascinated by the global dominance of American culture, and his works unsettling effects result from re-presenting the toys of our innocent youth in symbolic forms that reveal the shocking truths about war, death and guns in the world’s most powerful country. Above all they take a satirical look at the lengths that the country’s political elites go to in order to control and manipulate the way we think, from our first days of play to the last time we cast our vote. Turnbull is a passionate critic of the contemporary American political system, and explains why toys are central to his work: ‘Force fed on violence, abused by a controlling superpower and blackmailed through patriotism, the public are ultimately as disposable as the toys they once played with’."

Questions that hve been bothering me: PART 1

What is the meaning of the 'covered bridge'? they look quite nice but why do you need to be dry for the few seconds you are driving over the bridge?

...and another just popped into my head as i was pondering that... how long would a Slinky be if it was fully outstretched?

Riddle me that Smeegul.

The weekends big win...

Went to Herne Hill at the weekend (fast becomeing my favorite place it seems) and on Saturday we went for a walk. During our casual stroll round the park we were approached by an old chap dressed as, what can only be described as sergent pepper. He informed us that there was a treasure hunt going on today and, as it was free, we decided to play the community card and take part! very exciting. We were given a map of the area, there were around 20 spots marked on there and once you reached the marker there was a riddle and you were asked to find a particular area within that area which would give you a number eg. how many windows facing due south on a particular building. anyway after 3 hours and meeting the mayor or Lambeth here we are enjoying our winnings (£50 voucher) in Lombok the local Thai resaurant...

yep, bad picture.
