its that time of year again...

yes i know its a bit late but i recorded this the other week while on my lunch break in Soho square (good for many a shitty bench and hobo heckling), its one of those things, like the first proper sunny day or the feel of the heat from the pavement through your flippy floppers, that signifies the summertime (SEE ALSO: flying ant day).

'Fat Porsche'

By an artist called Erwin Wurm. A nice comment on how some of us westerners live.

ladies and gentlemen I give you... the Apple Macintosh.

I LOVE how excited the crowd gets when he gets the floppy disk out to 'chariots of fire'.

E-mails from an asshole

Original ad:
Hi, I'm looking for two "reliable/cool" girls to help me move some things from one storage unit to the next on Saturday 30th or Sunday 31st of May . They are directly across from each other but there are some fairly heavy things. I am low-key mid 30's female and can help with some stuff but will have stitches so am not supposed to lift a lot of heavy stuff. I can pay $15.00 per hour each for all or any part of the hour (ie: 1 hr and 20 min = $30.00). Also, can pick you up and drop off. I guess it will take us 1-2 hours start to finish.
From Timmy Tucker to ************@**********.org

Hello,

I saw your ad on ********** looking for girls to help you move. I am not a girl, but I must say, who are you kidding? Girls can't move heavy objects. That is a man's job, which is perfect for me. I am 6 foot and 220 lbs. I can bench press twice my weight and I can definitely move the shit out of whatever you are carrying. Leave the women for the kitchen. I'll help you move. My rate is $40 an hour.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks, Tim. Will keep you posted.

This website is bloomin' marvelous. its a collection of letters written to people by this guy who is basically taking them for a ride, with hilarious results (sorry, that makes me sound like a cheesy American comedy film trailer doesn't it?).

Reminds me of growing up and prank calling people from phone boxes using the operator to reverse the charges, good times. I would be ashamed if my kids didn't do it.

Thanks Ben from 'ITIABTWC' for this one.

... and by the way can anyone tell me just how the hell I put these sites in as real links, its in your own interest to save you copying and pasting all my amazing websites THANKYE!

WHA?

Right so you're breaking the world record for the highest ever dive. Do you decide to throw in a triple somersault pike? No, you bloody well don't, but hats off to the man for actually doing this CURR-AZY.

Heh!

Met a crusty today, he tried to sell me a big-ish shoe. I brought a mag on the principle of his creativity.
Whats the best Big Issue sales pitch you have heard?

D&AD New Blood...

So.. New Blood. had some interest in me from a few industry types, gave out a few cards, put about a million in the toilets/on coffee tables/bars/floors/cushions (e-mail address is on my blog and mobile number is at the very bottom of my card), had some book crits from Leo Burnetts Chris and Caroline/The Artworks Stephanie Alexander (thank you guys!) and drank alotta free beer (thank you Lydia).
Went to the training and advice sessions yesterday in Notting Hill too, holding it in a cinema was really cool, looked great and really good also as you could pay for one session and then just bumble into the next one and basically stay there all day for every session! classic cinema trick. not that i did that of course... ahem. but on that professional note, thanks to the speakers on that day, they were really useful, particularly Steve Henrys talk on 'how to be successful' (though he did clean up straight away that he didn't like that title). he had some great stories, tips and alot of well placed random quotes which came together as a great talk. Also the one called 'How to make your mark' very useful.
Got a couple of interviews coming up and a work placement or two so now ive got to go through this massive book-full of notes and groom my portfolio to a splendid state, wish me luck!

Hope you lot got from the exhibition what you wanted,

Big up the D&AD
